A planned addition to the University of Chicago hospital, located in the West Loop neighborhood, will house a main entrance and lobby for the facility. The addition, enclosed within a glazed curtainwall system, features an elliptical chapel suspended above the ground floor level that intersects with the roof of the addition.

BPA is the building envelope commissioning agent for the project. Services during the design phase have included technical review of the construction documents with a focus on air barrier continuity, thermal performance, and protection against water intrusion. BPA will provide commissioning services during the construction phase to include reviewing submittals, monitoring the progress of construction of the exterior enclosure, and overseeing performance testing of critical envelope systems.
